Today we will consider another one of the governing questions of this class: What is the threshold of culturally acceptable versus unacceptable inequality? And we will continue to test out how to read primary sources closely and carefully. So, what are some differences (at least five, but easily more) in the approach and argument between these two essays published less than a year apart in the same magazine, one focused on working men and the other focused on working women? In addressing this question, it is advisable to utilize the “Strategies for interpreting primary documents” that we used in class on Tuesday. |
