Next week we will do a second round of individual consultations about your research projects, which is meant to spur significant progress ahead of spring break. There will be progress reports before and after your consultation. For now, let’s pinpoint all the foundational elements of your research project. 1. The working title for your research project. 2. Why did this matter to people in the past? What was the challenge that they were confronted with? 3. Why should this matter to readers in the present? What is new, unusual, and significant about your research project with respect to the challenges we are today confronted with? 4. Bibliography of your secondary sources (all of which should be in hand). 5. Working bibliography (so far) of your primary sources, in chronological order (you should be nearly done with your secondary sources; primary sources will be the focus next week)? 6. Your sense of progress, or not, with respect to the workplan you made for response sheet 9. |
