Now that you have examined your secondary sources and at least some of your primary sources, it is time to create a tentative narrative arc for your research project.

1.  What is the heart of your story?  What changed for people in the past in some significant way?  What was the process of change?  How did it happen?  Why did it happen?

2.  What is the starting date of your story?  What was the situation at the starting point of your story, before the change?  Why was the situation like that?

3.  What is the ending date of your story?  What was the situation at the ending point, after the change?

4.  Let’s imagine that you might divide your research paper in three main sections.  What might each section cover?:
