History of American Capitalisms

Response sheet 24, in-class writing, Thursday

Congratulations on completing your rough drafts.  You have made knowledge ... and you have begun to learn, and hopefully appreciate, how much hard work is entailed in making knowledge.  I.e., creating an important subject that deserves attention, researching sources, analyzing sources, gathering evidence, sharing and testing out ideas, organizing an interpretation, and writing a clear, coherent, and compelling account — one that likewise deserves attention.

1.  So, how do you feel, having undertaken and completed an original piece of research and writing on such a scale?

2.  What did you learn about yourself?

3.  What did you learn about the making of knowledge?

4.  What is your self-evaluation and self-assessment of your own rough draft?  Everything in life can be seen as a work in progress and an imperfect success — what about your rough draft as it stands right now?  What worked out well?  What still needs refining?....
